rant

What is the point of Daylight savings time? I know what is was for but really do we still need it? Twice a year my children's schedule gets messed up and in turn so does mine. I love how all my friends without kids are enjoying their extra hour of sleep. I would like to tell them enjoy it now because once you have kids it's over. They do not sleep an hour later, so I never gain an hour, I think I really loose and hour so that means in the spring I loose 2 hours. I'm tired.
Okay rant over.
We had a good Halloween. Even in the little bit of rain we hit, it went well. The kids walked 3 streets and filled their buckets up all the way. Faith did really good. She said Happy Halloween or Trick or Treat to everyone and said thank you to everyone too!
We did have to make a costume change before we left because it was almost hot out and their costumes were for the normal cold weather we have on Halloween.

On a Happy note

So the last blog sounded a little sad so I would like to update.
When I wrote the last blog I was having some pregnancy symptoms. I am not but there was a week there we were not sure. I would love to have 3 kids one day but I was not sure I was really ready. So it was a confusing week.
Anyway we are enjoying our family as is for now. Josh has been working a lot it seems lately. He has also done a lot around the house. He is doing one small project every week. He has been doing a great job. I have been busy at work and trying to keep up with the house and kiddos. Luke started school and is loving it so far! I think his teacher this year is going to be really good at getting him ready for next year.
I feel pretty good about being on top of (some) things. I already have the kids Halloween costumes and we have almost finished picking out what we will be giving them for Christmas. We have decided to give them each on really nice big item with a few little thing to go with it. This will make it easier to find room for the new stuff ; )

Life

I know God never gives us more than we can handle and he has a perfect plan...but sometimes I would like a small heads up when he is going to throw me a curve ball. I guess that would not make life very fun but being a mommy is like being a boy scout..."Always be prepared". Its hard to do that when you don't know whats coming.

Thomas and Big girl beds

Luke's new obsession is Thomas the train. His best friend Ethan had always been into Thomas and all kinds of trains. I have always avoided Thomas because of how expensive it is but I am paying for it now. Luke was always into Cars (Disney/pixar), Star wars or Power Rangers. So we have collected tons of toys from these categories. When he started playing with Ethan he would play trains with him but never even talked about trains when he was not with Ethan. Then about a month ago he found his trains that we have (a wood set from Ikea, a couple Thomas trains (the big plastic babyish kind) and a couple from the dollar section at target). Then he decided that he wanted to buy some. Now it is all he talks about, plays with, watches and asks to read. I am okay with it but they are so pricey and I feel like he will grow out of it quickly and I hate having another collection of something but they do have good resale value ; )
Faith now has a big girl bed! We got her Dora sheets and her Mimi got her a Dora blanket. She LOVES it and is so happy. She has slept in it the past two nights and has not tried to get out yet. Hopefully she will keep it up. Then we will take down the baby crib which makes me a little sad. We have had the crib together since we got it. There was only a few months when it was not used but it was still in the nursery ready and waiting for Faith. This will be the first time we take it apart and put it away....sad.

Getting better

The kids have been sick for a week now...I think we are getting better. Their coughs are breaking up and sounding a little more loose. I am still fighting getting it and I think it is working (fingers crossed).
P.S. on a personal note I am learning to grow thicker skin. Something my boss told me I need to do. I always take things personally even if they are not meant to be (like an e-mail not meaning to be mean but me reading it that way). I feel like the reason is sometimes people do rude things without explanation and that is something to take personally (like not coming to anything you invite them too and them never inviting you to anything they do). When this is done to you a lot you start taking any rude behavior as if it is directed at you. I need to just let some stuff roll off my back and say whatever.

kids

So for the past few days my kids are acting more like siblings. They are fighting over everything and trying to make the other one mad just to do it. It is funny sometimes like in the car when they fight over who can sing what song. But most of the time it is just irritating. I do know this is just the beginning....sigh.

2

Tomorrow my Baby will be 2. I know she is a little small for her age and acts older than her age but I still can't believe that it has been 2 years since she was that little baby at the hospital.
She has been talking in full sentences for months now but she is very clear about what she says and knows what she wants. She has always been independent and it shows more the older she gets. She has not interest in things she can't do herself or with only a little help.

She loves to play with babies. Usually changing their "stinky butts" and putting them to sleep.

She still loves Pinocchio! Her Mimi bought her another one for her birthday because I don't want to know what would happen if the first one was lost and we did not have a replacement.

She still loves Dora. And most shows on Noggin.

She loves to sing! She knows the words to most of the CD's we listen to in the car. It is so cute to listen to her sing the songs.

She loves shoes!!! She puts them on by herself. She also tries on everyone else's. I can't take to a shoe store and not let her try on at least 3 pair of shoes. It is too cute.
She eats almost anything we do but does have her favorite foods. Fruit snacks would be on the top of the list.

We have taken away her bottle and so far it has gone okay but it is hard to get her to drink milk. Just like Luke she believes sippy cups are for water only.

She is funny and cute and sweet. I still can't believe that she is mine. She has brought so much joy to our lives and I will love to see what the future brings.
